In attending over 1000 interviews over 17 years, both as a candidate and panel member/chair I've noticed that, often unaware, panel members are conducting these interviews aswell as reference checks based on confirmation bias. Although panels are often great at evaluating a candidate's knowledge and skills, this bias can creep in. By not asking the right questions, candidates may fall through as a result of not being properly scouted during the recruitment process.
The typical recruitment process and onboarding of a candidate within the first year costs approximately $200,000, can you really afford to get this part wrong?
